Obituary of Bernice Miller

DELMAR - Bernice A. Miller, 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 8th, 2014 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Augusta, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph G. and Reba M. (Van Slyke) DeNauro and was also predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. A longtime resident of Utica, Bernice came to the Albany area in 1986. Prior to retirement, she had worked at J.C. Penney's for 27 years. Bernice was proud of her Italian heritage and was a fantastic cook. She loved family gatherings and preparing Sunday dinners. Bernice will be remembered for her feisty nature, independent spirit, and always speaking her mind. She is survived by three sons, David R. Miller, Jr. (Nancy) of Greene, NY, Douglas R. Miller (Paula) of Guilderland and Scott J. Miller (Laura) of Sauquoit, NY; a daughter, Sally A. Theadore (Fred) of Delmar; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11th, 2014 at 10 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 9 am to 10 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Disability Services, 314 So.
