My sincerest condolences are with Ted's family and all his colleagues. Ted and I had a different approach to the way we understood things but we always arrived at a positive conclusion with mutual respect and admiration! His vast storehouse of knowledge was astounding! His love of life was to be emulated! And his quick wit, even when we rolled our eyes at his "dad jokes" and puns, was greatly appreciated!!
¡Duerme con Dios mi amigo! I will miss you!

Ted, as I knew him, was incredibly motivated and motivational at the same time. He was especially helpful in our first garden project as well as in developing our stem projects and curriculum at site. I enjoyed his visits, emails and valued all the contributions he made to the program. He was always available and willing to help, a quality we often take for granted.

My colleague and friend Ted - I looked up to you as a mentor. You helped guide me in some major career decisions. You always made me laugh and now for the first time I’m crying at the thought of you. Thank you for so many gems and hours of loud laughter at your desk and for sharing your food with me and bringing me apple pie. And telling such hilarious jokes. We wrote curriculum together. You always said “Ally you and I are a lot a like, we don’t give a damn about egos, we care about the kids”. I love you Ted. I always called you my OG - Original Gangsta! I will miss hearing your stories about teaching and telling off wrong-doers, and about your wife’s good cooking and how much you cherished and loved her, about your family and grandkids, and your garden. Thank for the bountiful pages of gardening notes that I wrote from our conversations. You were a rare breed and I will deeply deeply miss you! My condolences to Mrs. Slone and the Slone family.

Ted showed passion and support for the development of our youth in all he did and he made time to share that with everyone he worked with. It was great to see his passion for the arts as he always shared lessons he found, ideas he had and he always made a point to share his joy for all we did. He made us often feel special for the work we shared. He will be missed! I send thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

To say I am truly saddened to hear about Ted's passing does not really get to the heart of the depth of my emotions. Ted was a true light for me in the office. He was indeed my buddy. He lit up the office with not only his awesome personality, his smile, and his amazing floral arrangements that he so graciously shared with me to brighten up my day. Ted will truly be missed. Rest in Heavenly Peace Ted. Sending love, light and beautiful blossoms of flowers.

My friendship with Ted was so special to me. Between gifting me flowers or flower bulbs to plant in my garden, sharing his garden tomatoes with me, to sharing lunch together and gabbing it up at each others desks.. Ted's presence always made me feel warm and welcome. My favorite memory with Ted is playing telephone with our colleagues while eating in the lunchroom, and I whispered something to him and he said "what?! honey, you're going to have to repeat that in my good ear" >.< and it made us laugh so hard. I loved hearing all his stories of his travels and learning so much from his anecdotes. I will miss Ted with all my heart, he was such an uplifting and free spirited individual, and one of my favorite people to work with.

It was a heart wrenching news when I found what happened. You helped me in everything. You became more than a boss to me but big role model and a friend. Ted helped me grew up to what I am. I will never forget you Ted. I will miss your stories and your garden flowers. I made a yearly tradition to call you on your birthday, you're always surprised everytime I call you. You didn't pick up this year so I sent a message instead. I really can't believe we loss you. Rest in peace Ted.

My deepest condolences to the family of Ted Slone. So frequently Ted and I would engage in conversations for almost an hour about gardening and the types of plants to pick up from Home Depot Gardening Department for the upcoming Spring.
I will miss those conversations. I get some comfort in knowing that Ted is watching over my garden.
Ted was a good man and such a kind soul.

There are few people in this world who you can debate with and lose to but genuinely walk away feeling like a winner. As Ted and I shared an office for several you truly got to appreciate his love for life and human interaction. We all lost a very special and loving individual.

I want to extend my sympathy to the family of Ted Slone. I am so very sorry for your loss. Ted will always be remembered by me as one of the kindest men I’ve ever known.
We worked at the same company for about 11 years and he was a beaming light. He would talk to me about his family and home upstate and his garden. They brought him so much joy.
Knowing I was a single mother at the time, he would share resources and tips with me to ensure my boys had access to opportunities I didn’t know were available. He cared about children so much and worked hard to advocate for them, even when he was the only one.
I will forever be grateful for the kindness Ted extended to me when my world looked so dark and will continue to pay it forward for the rest of my days.

There is no doubt that you will be missed. I was honored to call you my friend.
