Obituary of Angela F. Merrill

Angela Merrill was called home on December 30, 2021 after battling ALS.

She was the wife of Thomas Merrill and loving mother to David (Melissa) and Marc (Karly). She absolutely loved her grandchildren Adreana, Nico, Olivia, and Mia. The beloved daughter of Dominic and Anna Marie Rucci, sister of Josephine (Ronald) Seig, and Donna Rucci. She was a loving aunt to Stephanie (Mike) Sancimino, Melissa Scaglione, and Anna Marie Wieland. She adored her many great nieces and nephews.

Angela was born and raised in Yonkers, New York where she met the love of her life at White Swan at the young age of 20. They married on June 23, 1974 in Yonkers, New York. They began raising their family until they moved in 1994 to Copake, New York. Once there, she used her amazing cooking skills by working at the General Store for many years. Angela will be forever remembered as greeting someone and saying “Hello Doll” in a voice that no one could ever forget. Even though Angela went home to God way too early, we are forever grateful and blessed to have had her in our lives. Angela loved children, her family, and friends with all of her heart. When she was present in a room, the room was brought to life. She was known for her sarcastic jokes and making everyone laugh. She cared for her family with her entire heart and her family did the same for her. When she smiled, you couldn’t help but smile with her.
