Obituary of Leonard N. Carusone, Sr.

Leonard N. (Skip) Carusone, Sr., 77, of Delmar, passed away suddenly on February 16, 2022 due to natural causes.

He was born on May 8, 1944 in Albany NY. Skip is survived by his high school sweetheart who became his loving wife of 56 years, Susan. Also surviving are his children, Claudia, Leonard Jr. (Jodie), Liza Cline (Benjamin) and Joseph (Sadrina), grandchildren Kailee (Paula), John Hobb (Blake) and Colton, two sisters, Phyllis Twarog and Kathy Gallagher (Seamus), his mother-in-law Olly and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Nunzio and Katherine Carusone (Maffeo), and his son James.

Skip attended Hartwick College and Russell Sage College and retired from New York State service after 37 years, having attained the title of Director. He loved to read, travel, sail, golf, ski, watch old movies, play with and nurture his grandson Colton and doing anything and everything with his family, especially his wife. He also enjoyed long walks with his dogs, Ginger and Sugar.
