I can't believe Doug isn't here anymore. I've known him since we were 6 y/o's on the Delmar Dophins Swim Club. I was friends with Doug and his sister thru swimming and school for years. I remember when his mom was pregnant with his younger brother, Ken, when he was born and brought to one of our swim meets at the Elm Ave Park pool.
Donna and family, I am so very sad and so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you're going thru right now and my heart goes out to you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I have only good memories of Doug. He always had a smile on his face or a positive/ funny comment to ad to the conversation.
I remember that almost as a challenge, I made Bday cakes for Doug for years in middle & high school, since he said people forgot his Bday. I wanted to make sure he wasn't forgotten. It was a running joke and made Doug's day when the cake would inevitably show up.
So many pple on Facebook have sent messages of condolence and written only good things about Doug. Doug was one of the good guys. He has left this world way too soon. He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him. Doug touched so many pple and so many lives. He will always be in my heart, and many others' too.
I believe he is with God now and will be an angel in heaven, as he was when he was here on earth. Goodbye my friend. I will miss you and your kind soul. You will never be forgotten. You will be remembered always.
