Our deepest condolences to Barry's sons, Kurt and Erik and Families, his sister Sarah Hary and husband Michael Hary, and his brother Karl and Helen Swan, and their children and grandchildren. I first met my cousin Barry when both our families lived in the tiny hamlet of Jackson Summit, Pennsylvania. At that time Barry spent a great deal of time with my brother Louis. They were seriously engaged in excavating an area behind our house with a variety of toy trucks and bulldozers, creating road after road through piles of dirt and rocks, with a various neighborhood friends and cousins. Barry's family soon moved to Corning, New York, so I saw him more often when we both attended Mansfield State College. Our lives took us to distant geographical places, but we kept in touch in later years, especially at those sad times of loss. Thanks to Sarah and Mike, my husband John and I had a wonderful time dining out and catching up with Barry. It took me back to our college days of Friendship and "Cousinship."
Barry and Sarah stopped by on their way home from Kurt's wedding, hoping to see my sister Rosemary when she was terminally ill, but unfortunately she was not receiving visitors at that time. Then two years ago when my brother Louis was terminally ill, Barry sent me an email with a very touching message, which I was able to relate to my brother: "Tell Lou I never forgot all the fun we had playing in Rock City...and tell him I love him.
We love you too, Barry.
