Obituary of Catharine Parry McHugh

Catharine Parry McHugh, age 81, of Westminster and Rosedale, Bradenton, Florida passed away on November 5, 2023, in Vero Beach, Florida.

A funeral service will be held at Applebee Funeral home on November 27^th at 1:00 p.m. The family will be present an hour before to receive friends. A burial will follow at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Delmar, New York.

Cathie grew up in Albany and attended the Albany Academy for Girls. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire. She worked as an Occupational Therapist for BOCES and the Burnt Hills School District helping children with disabilities to have the best life possible.  She loved laughing, tennis, golf, skiing, travel, music, dancing, and having cocktails with her family and many friends. She raised her three children as a single working mother. Cathie was a great support to her mother who lived a long and wonderful life in Sarasota, Florida. Cathie took great joy in her relationship with her sorority sisters at their annual gatherings. She enjoyed the contrast of lifestyles between the mountains of Lake Placid, New York and the beaches of Bradenton, Florida.

Cathie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Jim McHugh; her three children, Scott Reul (and partner Terri Thompson), Kim (Roger) Goddard, Todd (Karen) Reul; her four stepchildren Julie (Jeff) Smith, Brian (Edie) McHugh, Neal McHugh, Carrah (Jim) Daley; her sister Susan McEwan; her brother David (Naomi) Parry; and her grandchildren Hali and Jasper Goddard.  She is preceded in death by her father Everett Parry, mother Betty Parry and sister Joan Baim.
