Obituary of Marion R. Winne

Marion R. Winne (Friebel), age 95 passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 with her family by her side after a very short illness.  Born in Albany on February 10, 1928 and lived in Delmar, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Smith Friebel. 

Before retiring, Marion was employed by the NY State Dept. of Health for several years.   Marion was a friendly and happy person.  She loved animals and befriended, and fed, every dog, cat, and Squirrel in her neighborhood.  She was funny and sharp till the end and enjoyed word seek puzzles.   She loved her family above all else.  Marion will be missed dearly and always remembered with a smile. 

Marion is survived by her children; Alfred Weber, Jr. (Nancy Jo), and Linda Weber (Moose Opitz), her granddaughter; Anne Carroll (Anthony, Sr.), her great grandchildren; Anthony Carroll, Jr. and Annalise Carroll.  She is also survived by her niece, Mary Crowder.

Marion was predeceased by her Husbands; Chuck Winne and Alfred Weber, Sr., her sister and brother-in-law Irene Crowder (Joe) and Nephew Ed Crowder.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 19, 2024 at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave. Delmar.  The family will receive visitors at the funeral home 11:00 to 1:00pm before the service. 

Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar.
