Obituary of Jane A. Perry

Jane A. Perry, 93, originally of South Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

Born on August 11, 1930 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John L. Perry, Sr. and Edna Mosher Perry.  Jane graduated from Ravena- Coeymans-Selkirk High School in 1948.  She continued her education at Lasell University graduating in June of 1950 with a degree in Medical Technology.

Jane began her professional career in 1952 working for a private lab.  She worked at Glenridge Hospital from 1957 to 1967 and at the NYS Dept. of Agriculture and Markets from 1967-1987, where she was active in helping organize CSEA Local 650.

Jane enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod and Florida and spending time at the family camp on Loon Lake.  She especially enjoyed trips abroad with her cousin, Mary Beth.  Her other enjoyments included doing puzzles, counted cross stitch, and collecting Dept. 56 village pieces.

She is survived by her brother, John L. Perry, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Lisa Perry, Mark Perry (Diane), Brian Perry (Kelly) and Dena Perry (Kim Boyd); great nieces, Kara Perry and Reilly Perry; great nephews, Matthew Perry and Connor Perry; and her loving cousin, Mary Beth Sclafani.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear friend, Norma Paige.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday February 17, 2024 from 11 am to 12 noon at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar.  A graveside service will immediately follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland.  Memorial contributions may be made to South Bethlehem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 98, South Bethlehem, NY 12161.
