Obituary of James J. Gallogly

Greenville – James J. Gallogly III passed away at the age of 55 on Monday, February 12, 2024, after complications from a stroke.

Jim was born on September 14, 1968, and raised in Feura Bush, NY.  He attended St. Thomas The Apostle School in Delmar thru grade school.  He then attended Christian Brothers Academy and graduated from Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School in 1986.  He lived in Greenville with his wife and was a member of the Town of Westerlo Zoning Board.

Jim’s hobbies included enhancing any vehicle he drove with lift kits and impressive tires, customizing his Harley Davidson, and working on his house.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed talking about politics with anyone willing.  He never turned down an opportunity to enjoy oysters and craft beers with friends.  He was interested in gardening and cooking and could grill the best steaks ever.  He had a soft spot for all animals, especially deaf cattle dogs.  He enjoyed buying his wife beautiful roses for all important occasions.

Jim was a lifelong member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 236.  He was experienced in a variety of commercial and industrial installations and was often a foreman on an extensive list of large projects in the Capital District.  He was most proud to be a journeyman wireman in the trenches with his coworkers.

James is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Sherri (Nolan), his mother Raydeen (Dedrick) Gallogly, and siblings Michael, Sean (Melissa), Kristin (Ed) Donohue and Kathryn (Howie) Vagele,  Godmother Aunt Betsy Gallogly, as well as adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and family by marriage.  He was predeceased by his father James J.
