Obituary of Frances C. Stasko

Glenmont, NY

Frances Catherine (Lesko) Stasko was born June 2, 1945 to Elizabeth (Roznoy) Lesko and Frank E. Lesko in Irvington, NJ and peacefully passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 2, 2024.  Raised in Maplewood, NJ, Frances graduated from Columbia High School and went on to receive her Teaching Degree from Newark State College in Union, NJ.  She married the love of her life, George A. Stasko on December 17, 1966 in Jersey City, NJ.  They began their life together and moved to Upstate NY where Fran began teaching Kindergarten for the Troy City School District and then taught in Ballston Spa.  She became a doting mother and remained home to raise her family.  Years later, Fran returned to Education and completed her MBA at Sage Graduate School.  She went on to become the Assistant Dean of Continuing Education at Siena College and remained there for many years.  Fran’s main love and focus in life was her family.  She gave of herself unconditionally to her husband, children and grandchildren, always willing to talk, listen and give advice.  Fran selflessly and freely gave the gift of love to all who knew her and even to those who did not.  She supported numerous missions and outreach programs by donating, baking, and giving of herself in more ways than one.  Fran had an incredible green thumb and enjoyed gardening and creating beautiful floral arrangements.  Her love for cooking and baking blessed family and friends with delicious daily dinners and holiday meals.  She enjoyed yearly trips to Florida during the winter months, savoring the warm weather and sunshine.  Spending time with family was her greatest love and what she looked forward to most.  Fran was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and enjoyed attending weekly Bible studies, religious classes, and monthly women’s luncheons.  Her faith and love for Christ was evident in everything she did.  Fran was predeceased by her parents.  In addition to her loving husband, George, of 57 years, she is survived by her daughter, Sara (Maurice) O’Connell of Delmar, and son Samuel (Heather) of Longmont, CO. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Caitlyn and Ryan O’Connell of Delmar and Emma and Sadie Stasko of Longmont and her siblings Frank (Christine) Lesko and Dolores (Fred) McNaboe as well as several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 9am to 11am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Ave. Delmar.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 11am to 12pm at the same location.  A luncheon will immediately follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 12pm.  All are welcome to attend to celebrate the beautiful woman of God that Fran was.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Fran’s memory may be sent to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Ave. Delmar, NY 12054.
