Obituary of Pamela G. Burns

Pamela Burns died on March 7, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 81.

She was born and raised in Nutley, NJ by her parents Thaddeus Gaitka and Rose Wantuck. She married Paul Burns and started her new family in Bethlehem 50 years ago. She leaves behind her sons Christopher and his wife Stephanie, and Justin and his wife Cindy, and two grandsons, Luke and his partner William Blair, and Marc and his partner Meaghan Monahan.

Pam earned her Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and Master of Education from the College of Saint Rose. She founded the National Head Injury Foundation and its New York State chapter and worked in special and primary education. More recently she enjoyed volunteering with the Albany Woman’s Club including serving as Archive Committee Chair. Pam touched the lives of many with her strong will and loving spirit.

Funeral mass will be held 3/15/2024 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle in Delmar, NY.
