Ann Dominelli

Obituary of Ann E. Dominelli

DELMAR - Ann E. Dominelli, 91, entered into eternal rest on January 27, 2015 at Teresian House surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 2, 1923 in Albany, Ann was the daughter of Speranza and Luigi Vendetti and wife of the late Edward J. Dominelli. Ann attended the former Philip Schuyler High School and spent summers at her father's truck farm in then rural Delmar where she later took up residence. In 1963, she married the love of her life, Eddie with whom she spent the next 50 years raising their five children, traveling, and enjoying life. Ann will be affectionately remembered as a stylish dresser who loved shopping and proudly wearing the latest fashions. She was the person others dutifully consulted when buying new clothes. More importantly, she treasured her family and friends and used her legendary culinary skills and hospitality to bring everyone together - be it for a raucous pool party, Christmas Eve celebration or just an old-fashion Sunday dinner. Ann will be missed by all those whose lives she touched and blessed. She was predeceased by her brother Rocco (Alice) and son Dennis (Linda). Ann is survived by sons, Louis DiLillo (Sue) of Lubbock, Texas, and Edward T. Dominelli (Janis) of Wilmington, NC; daughters, Hope Cameron of Delmar, and Deborah Van Wely of Albany; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Carmelite Sisters and staff of Teresian House for the compassionate care, love and support given to Ann and her family. A special thanks to the outstanding Teresian staff on 3A. They treated our parents as though they were their own. We were blessed to have the Teresian House family in our lives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31st at 11:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 30th from 4 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Teresian House Foundation to benefit the care of the elderly and infirm at 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203. 456-2000.
