My wife and I were sittingand talking about two teenage girls coming to visit us from Madrid. That's when Mr Cicero's name came up. My wife said let's call Mr Cicero and let him know that Jose's daughter and niece were coming to visit our family for two weeks
You see, my son Jason came home from high school( 30 years ago) one day and asked if he could have a foreign exchange student. I swear the next day your dad walked in with Jose and from that day on we have been his American parents and have been part of his family.
I do hope you receive this message, he would have loved to hear this.
Sorry for your loss, he was a very special man to us and I'm sure to many others.

My prayers are with your family. I have fond memories of "Mr Cicero" from my days as a student at GCHS. He cared deeply for the kids - and they for him.

I taught with Frank for many years, traveled to Spain and France with him and met my husband George who taught in Guilderland one year then had Frank as prof of Italian for several summers at New Paltz. Frank was fun, funny, sometimes complicated to deal with but always kind and encouraging to me whom he affectionately called "Viento." Those who understand Spanish will smile at that. We will all miss him very much. Vete con Dios, Jefe!

My sincerest sympathy is extended to all of you. I remember Frank from my high school years--in the late '50's. He was a genuine gentle man and I will never forget his vast knowledge of gardening, wine making and academics, beyond languages. I had the good fortune of working with him when I taught at the High School from 1967 until he retired and my respect for him grew. He was feisty but also sympathetic. He was well loved and will be missed by many! Thank you for sharing him with us all these years.
