Obituary of Elizabeth A. Scarcella

SELKIRK – Elizabeth A. "Betty" Scarcella, 83, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 29, 2017 with her family by her side. Born in Albany on June 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Irene (Halsdorf) Therrien. Betty was an underwriter at Farm Family Insurance in Glenmont prior to her retirement. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, spending time with her family and taking long drives in the country with her husband. She enjoyed going to shows and on outings with her best friend, Fran Cox. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Frank Scarcella; daughters, Laurie Conlin and Beth Scarcella; and brothers, John and Bill Therrien. Survivors include her sons, Michael, John, Paul, Kevin and Nick Scarcella; brother, Emile Therrien; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 4th from 4 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A funeral mass will be celebrated 9 am Friday, May 5th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
