SLINGERLANDS - Bruce Hamilton Fellows, age 90 passed away on December 4, 2018 He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carolyn (Hunn); his children Gay of Saratoga Springs NY, Jane Keyes of Delmar NY, and Roger (Jane Gulick) of Kirkland, WA; his grandchildren Timothy (Crystal), Jennifer, and Katherine Keyes, Elizabeth Tillman (Bates), Caitlin, James, and Andrew Fellows; and his great grandchildren, Tristan, Austin, and Caroline Keyes, and Lidia Volmer. Born in Milwaukee, WI, Sept. 15, 1928, to Harriet (Burnes) and Harrison Edward Fellows II. While attending Wauwatosa High School he was AAU state diving champion his junior and senior year. He attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. A campus leader, he was a four-year letterman and captain of the swimming team, president of Delta Upsilon Fraternity, and class president, graduating with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1951. He joined The General Electric Company in 1951. After a 22-year career at GE in technical marketing, he joined Permag Corp. in Hicksville, NY as General Manager. He and Carolyn moved to Munich Germany to establish a European Division before finishing his career in Sunnyvale California as Sr. Vice President. After retiring Bruce and Carolyn split time between Saratoga Springs NY, and Naples Florida. He loved to sail and was active in Manhasset Bay Yacht Club (NY). He took up scuba diving, became certified as a CASA Volunteer (Guardian Ad Litum) for the courts in Florida, volunteered at The Nature Conservancy, Habitat for Humanity (treasurer), Literacy Volunteers, and served as a board member of the Saratoga Opera. Most important to Bruce were his family and friends. His family were his friends and his friends were his family. He was known for his skill as a public speaker, his great toasts, his sense of humor, big laugh, and quick wit. When asked once "How the heck did you get so old?" he quickly replied with a twinkle in his eye, "Patience". His was a life well lived and he will be dearly missed! A celebration of his life will be planned in northern Wisconsin in July 2019. In lieu of flowers, please send gifts in Bruce's name to The National CASA Association www.casaforchildren.org.
